The mission of Be Civil, America! is simple: To return civility to American politics, debate and life in general. It seems that many of us have taken our passions to the extreme. A large number of Americans seem to think that slurs, threats and racial epithets are an acceptable form of discourse. Be Civil, America! and its supporters are here to condemn these behaviors. We want those responsible to know that it is not acceptable any more.

All Americans, whether on the political right, left or center, want essentially the same thing; what is best for America. We might disagree on how to get there or what that America might look like. However, our desire to see America be the best country that it can be is nearly universal. As such, Be Civil, America! stands to challenge those who would tear us apart and challenge ourselves to be more open minded and accepting of ideas that are different than our own. We are all in this together, be it sink or swim.
